New contract signed!

Whooo hooo!

Yup, all signed and sent! Alex's Appeal, the next book in Jenna Byrnes and my Kindred Spirit's Series has a release date, tentatively, in September of this year at Total E-Bound. A long way off, but it's a date and I'm thrilled. You'll love Alex! He's hot and sexy and a bear of a man who is a little insecure too.

Here's a teaser for you. I can't share too much because we haven't been through edits, but it's a wonderful day and I'm jazzed!

Series Blurb:

“Welcome to Whiskers’ Seaside Inn. Do you have a reservation?”

Whiskers' Seaside Inn doesn't sound like the most exotic location for a weekend getaway, but it's certainly intriguing. Ethan Roberts is smitten the moment he sees the weathered clapboard inn and finds out it’s for sale. He’s even more taken with the establishment's hunky handyman, Cade Wyatt.

The inn has two paying guests, but Ethan discovers another cast of characters who come and go as they please. Cade might be nonchalant about the ghosts, but Ethan's not sure he feels the same. He wants Cade more than anything, but Cade won't leave the inn. Somehow, Ethan must find a way to live with the spirits as well as the man he's come to love.

Can I ever make this place my home? He knows he could, in a heartbeat, if the inn was truly as serene as the face it presents to the world. Deep inside, something’s festering. He’s tried to ignore it—or not to believe in it—but he’s past that, now. There are ghosts or spirits at Whiskers’, plus one batty old woman, and he needs to know more about all of them.

“Annie, Laura and Ben,” Ethan repeated dully. “The ghosts.”

Chuckling, Cade faced him. “Actually, they’re spirits. You really don’t want to believe in them, do you?”

“Ghosts—spirits—aren’t real,” Ethan insisted. “I believe that.”

“Well, Mr. Roberts, I have a feeling your beliefs are about to be tested.”

Book Tag:

A bear of a lawyer in mourning, a handsome young chef who falls head over heels, and a mystery that threatens their happiness are just the beginning of the events at Whisker’s Seaside Pub.

Book Blurb: (which may be altered before the dust settles)

Lawyer Alex Brookfield arrives at Whiskers’ Seaside Inn with a big decision weighing heavily on him. He’s been offered a judgeship, and while it’s an incredible promotion, it would mean leaving the house he shared with his late, long-time partner. Russ died of cancer eight months ago, and although Alex is ready to move on, he isn’t sure about such a big, permanent step.

Logan Emerson is the inn’s chef, and wouldn’t mind cooking up something special with the handsome attorney. He’s not concerned about their fourteen year age difference. He just knows what he likes and isn’t afraid to go after the hunky bear of a man.

Alex heard stories about the inn’s ghosts from its owner, his friend and former lover Ethan Roberts. But he’s totally unprepared for the spirit who shows up his first night there. Between futile attempts to fend off the frisky young cook, and his offer to help inn co-owner Cade Wyatt come up with a romantic marriage proposal for Ethan, Alex finds his hands, and his bed, quite full.

I'll definitely share more as time goes by.

Weekend pondering!

It's Sunday afternoon and I'm a thousand words, or less, from finishing what's called a Lust Bites for Total E-Bound. And I'm here, still flabbergasted by the number of people who came and commented on the revamped layout of my blog. I really can't believe how kind you've all been. Thank you.

This story I'm working on. It's the first one I've tackled since the holidays. It's been a thoughtful time for me. 2009 was an amazing year for me in so many ways. My work on Total E-Bound has done incredibly well. Jenna Byrnes and I have collaborated on several books that have been well accepted, and we've been planning the next couple. Quinn's Blessing is our next one, and we begin plotting that out tomorrow. Gulp. I do have to get this one done first though.

I've also looked at a number of e-publishing venues and think Noble Romance is going to be the best fit for me, for now. Jill works very hard to make sure the quality of the books she publishes stays high and that's a very good thing. There are still bumps and wobbles, but I'm sure she'll keep up the good work.

I got a release date for my third anthology title with Noble. Echoes of the Future is supposed to come out in March of this year. That's awesome news. March is also when Jenna's an my Stallion's Pride comes out through Total E. That's the last one of our Untamed Hearts Series. That was also our first attempt at working together. Wow!

Time really does fly when you've got your nose to the grindstone. LOL Okay, I've got to get going now. That story is not going to write itself. I'll be back again soon, so come back often.

Pretty new format!

Ta da!

Whatcha think? Is this pretty or what?

I am sooo pleased with how this turned out, I can't sit still. Phew!

It took me three hours to get it all just the way I wanted it, add the side bar (Thank you Jenna) and make sure everything was working, linked to where it was supposed to be linked to and all spiffied up. Yay, I am soooo happy with this. I adore the antlered lady at the top. She's not a changeling, but I believe she thinks she is. That's all that's important. She spoke to me and I love her.

I've made a real effort to blog three or four times a week for the last while and I've enjoyed it, mostly. Honestly, there are times I don't know what to talk about, but I do try to add bits of humor and information when that happens. Take the last post. That's amazing.

I'm also thinking of asking others if they'd like to post something here. That'll give some free promotions for them and a day off for me. LOL Yup, there's method to my madness. If anyone reading this would like to promote a book or have something interesting/funny/exciting/sexy to share I'd love to hear from you. Send me an email at jude.mason AT yahoo.ca and I'll get in touch with you asap. Oh, note the ca at the end of that address. Apparently it's not common. I'm Canadian and it seemed the right thing to do.

I'd also love to exchange links if anyone is interested. I've got a very nice sidebar with room. So, if you have a blog or website and would like to do a link exchange, use that email address and we'll do the deed.

Any feed back on this lovely new format would be great. Thanks so much for stopping by.

After six years of existence as primarily a chat forum for those who read and/or write glbt-themed books, the Gay Writers/Readers group has formed Gay Writing Today to reach out to anyone and everyone interested in learning more about glbt books and writing, the authors/members of GWR, and those who enjoy reading them.

Gay Writing Today is the brainchild of author Dorien Grey and was built with the help of talented authors and techies Leiland Dale and Lex Valentine. I'm thrilled to be one of the authors included on the pages.

You are cordially invited to look around the site, which will be constantly changing and updated, and your comments, questions, and suggestions are always welcome.

Highland Gaymes by Carol Lynne

There's more to a man than what's under his kilt.

Shaw Fitzgerald loves touring the United States with his brothers. A fiddle player since an early age, music is the only thing he's ever been passionate about. That is, until he sees Curt Macaula compete for the first time.

As a competitor in the Highland Games, Curt knows how important it is to concentrate on the individual events. Getting distracted while tossing a one hundred and fifty pound pole isn't an option. Away from his events, Curt is free to ogle the very pretty member of the Brothers Fitzgerald band.

Toward the end of the season, Curt knows it's time to make his move. With Shaw being guarded by four macho brothers, it won't be easy, but Curt is determined to win the man of his dreams.

Good Cop, Bad Cop by Jenna Byrnes and Jude Mason

Two hot studs, an evening of scorching sex, a pub, and the gaymes begin...or have they?

Officer Kevin Sands and his lover get off on playing games - role playing games. When one of their escapades goes awry, will someone else pay the price for their fun? Or can the lovers solve a mystery that could mean the end of everything they hold dear?

Elliot's War by Kim Dare

The Welsh and the English. Celts and invaders. Captors and prisoners. Victors and slaves. Let the war games begin!

The woodland war is billed by the university as an important exploration of differing cultural traditions within the British Isles. As far as Elliot understands it, the game involves the local Welsh students and those who invade the university from across the border, waging a war in the woodlands that surround the university.

Elliot's not quite sure how he ended up agreeing to take part in the war game. Nor is he entirely sure how he ended up running through the forest wearing a skimpy toga while being chased by a dozen Celtic warriors - all of them painted a very historically inaccurate shade of blue woad.

For better or worse, Elliot's about to get an education that wasn't advertised in the university prospectus.

Crossed Hearts by Lisabet Sarai

When love is the prize, everyone wins.

For the past six years, Jason Hofstadter has attended the Four States Annual Scrabble Tournament. Jason comes to the Four States for two reasons - to play Scrabble and to get laid. Every year since his first, he has managed to hook up with one of the other players for some sexual fun. This year he has a chance at the grand prize in the tournament. Meanwhile, he figures he has hit the jackpot when he spots handsome, bookish Matt Sawyer, who's competing at the Four States for the first time.

Shy and seemingly innocent, Matt turns out to be full of surprises. First, he jumps Jason in the rest room at Starbucks. Then he reveals that he's into BDSM and encourages Jason to experiment with topping him. Finally, despite his lack of experience with tournament play, Matt ends up competing with Jason in the semi-final round. When Matt throws the game he should have won, Jason is forced to confront his own feelings - about winning, about casual sex, and about Matt.

Rough Riders by Devon Rhodes

Playing by different rules can lead to heartbreak, but changing the game plan can be the tiebreaker.

Luke Briscoe has a good reason to stay in the closet with his team, the Rough Riders. Bitter past experience has taught him to be cautious around athletic teams. But after Mario, his teammate and lover of ten years, leaves him, tired of the secrecy, Luke is forced to confront his fears, especially since the sexy and confident new member of the team, Derek Grimm, has no problem with being out and proud.

Derek has wanted Luke from the first moment he saw him. But he knows the timing is all wrong, and vows to let Luke have the time he needs to recover from his breakup. As time goes on, though, Derek becomes frustrated with Luke's determination to stay in the closet. Derek and Mario are out, and the team is fine with it. Why is Luke still holding back? Derek wonders if any amount of time will ever be enough. Maybe it's time to try a different game plan...

Contact Point by Gwendolyn Cease

When two men who have nothing to lose and come together for one night, they both discover a connection they never thought possible.

Jesse Chandler needed a place to get out of the storm. What he found was a bar catering exclusively to wolf shifters. Cade Reynolds, pack Alpha and bar owner, sees nothing but trouble when the small human wanders into his bar. When Jesse signs up for the pool tournament, Cade decides to let him participate, so he'll lose and leave. Instead, Jesse wins every game he plays until a storm puts the brakes on everything.

Jesse desperately needed to win the tournament prize money, but instead of a nice cosy room, he ends up squatting under a tree for shelter. When Cade invites him home for the night, Jesse has no choice, but to accept. Sit under a tree in the pouring rain or sleep in a house...No one ever said Jesse was a fool.

All Cade wanted was to offer Jesse a place to stay for the night. But one touch from the smaller male made him realise that sleeping wasn't what was on his mind. Cade wanted Jesse, but the wolf wanted to keep Jesse forever.
