They say opposites attract. Can a geek and a hunk find happiness among the ghostly apparitions at Whisker’s Seaside Inn?
Two very different men with one shared problem.
Frankie Nelson is a computer geek with a problem. He’s caught his life partner cheating on him, and the socially awkward side of him is not sure how to deal with it. He decides to get away and clear his head, winding up at Whiskers’ Seaside Inn, the Oceanside home of his Aunt Delia.
Raul Herrara is a sporty outdoorsman who doesn’t even own a computer. When he meets Frankie it’s apparent they have little in common—other than a mutual deep lusty desire for each other. Just when Raul realises he’s fallen for the shy nerd, Frankie’s partner comes to claim him. Unless Frankie can speak up for himself, the new relationship may be over before it’s really begun.
Reader Advisory: This book is part of a series but may be read as a standalone story.

A handsome hunk, sceptical of ghosts, and the bad boy ex-con who’s stolen his heart, have a rousing good time at Whiskers’ Seaside Inn.
Dylan Wyatt doesn’t believe in ghosts. That’s what he
keeps telling himself, night after night, when noises and unusual happenings at
Whiskers’ Seaside Inn wake him. He’s there for two weeks running the place
while his brother Cade and groom Ethan are away on their honeymoon. His first
assignment is to oversee the removal of the wedding tent, tables and chairs.
Dylan decides he’s more interested in watching one of the workmen, handsome,
hunky Scott.
Besides having a tiger tattoo running from his neck to
his wrist, Scott’s got a waist-length braid and has done prison time. He’s not Dylan’s
usual type, but that might be part of the attraction. Dylan hires the handyman
to do some work at Whiskers’, and winds up getting a lot more than he bargained
for.
Like it or not, Dylan’s forced to figure out what’s
going on if things at Whiskers’ are ever going to return to normal. If there is
a Whiskers’ normal?
EXCERPT
“What do we have here?” Coffee in hand, Dylan Wyatt stood
just inside the inn’s double doors. He was admiring the view, but not of
Whiskers’ Seaside Inn’s picturesque setting. His attention was drawn to a tall,
slender man who’d just climbed out of an old, white truck. The newcomer sported
a black leather vest over a ragged T-shirt, an unusual combination considering
the warm summer weather. ‘Unusual’ seemed to be an appropriate word for the
man, whose hair ran in a thick braid down his back. A large, colourful tattoo
wound down one arm to his wrist.
He fills out those worn blue jeans in a nice way. Dylan
shook his head in an attempt to clear the thought. He couldn’t get a grip on
what he found so intriguing. He’d never been attracted to tattooed physiques in
the past, but this guy seemed different. An air of—what? Mystery?
Danger?—surrounded the handsome hunk like thick fog.
“Hey, daydreamer.” The words came from a very short,
nearly bald man climbing from the front seat of the truck. “Give us a hand,
would you?”
Dylan’s head snapped in the direction of the voice,
wondering if the guy was talking to him. He quickly realised the driver was
speaking to the handsome hunk.
With an obvious sigh, the sexy fellow in tight jeans
turned his attention from the ocean and made his way to the rear of the truck.
Dylan bit back a chuckle. The view was incredible, but
the guy wasn’t there to sight-see. He was one of the men hired to tear down the
marquee, tables and chairs brought in for the wedding at the inn the previous
day. Dylan’s brother, Cade, and his groom, Ethan, had finally tied the knot
with a full-scale celebration. Once they’d got past some pre-wedding nonsense,
the ceremony had gone off without a hitch, and guests had partied late into the
night. Now, the couple were off on their honeymoon, leaving Dylan to run the
inn for a couple of weeks. His first chore was to supervise the cleanup.
Dylan noted annoyance on the balding man’s face when the
hunk, moving at his own slow pace, reached for the armload of strapping he held
out. Shorty was obviously in charge. Two other men stood idly by, each bearing
a burden of rope or burlap. It wasn’t a terribly big job, but it was hot outside,
and no one seemed anxious to get started before anyone else.
The wedding paraphernalia had to be removed that
afternoon so the garden and yard could return to normal for incoming guests.
Logan Emerson, the inn’s former cook who had spearheaded the wedding plans, had
hired local barkeep, Joe Swanson, and his crew to do the teardown. Dylan eyed
the workers, his attention going back to the tall, dark-haired hunk and staying
there. The stud’s three-day beard growth was nearly as black as his hair. When
the hunk turned his back again, Dylan dragged his gaze off the man’s ass long
enough to realise the thick, braided hair nearly reached his waist.
“Yowzah!” Dylan whispered and sucked in his breath.
That’d definitely be something to hang onto during… He pushed that thought
aside. The guy was probably as straight as an arrow, so whatever Dylan might
dream up, he’d be disappointed.
Nevertheless, he had to go out and talk to this Joe guy.
Setting his cup on the nearest table, he pushed his fingers through his own
shoulder-length, brown hair and walked out into the sunlight. Joe had stopped
the truck at the far end of the parking lot, so Dylan got another look at Mr.
Hunk on the way over. By the time he reached the truck, Dylan was tempted to
grab a handful of the hottie’s hair just to see what would happen. He forced
down his lustful thoughts and approached Joe.
“Joe Swanson?” Dylan extended his right hand towards the
balding man. “I’m Dylan Wyatt. I’m taking care of the place while the newlyweds
are away for a couple of weeks.”
Joe reached out and took Dylan’s hand, giving it a
vigorous shake. “Mr. Wyatt, good to meet you. Logan told me you’d be here to
make sure we got this right. The marquee, tables and chairs, that’s all you
want us to take, right?”
“Yes, that’s it. Logan said you’d be able to return the
stuff to the rental place on Monday.”
“Yeah, the store is just a couple of blocks from my bar.
I’ll have the boys run everything back in the morning.” Joe nodded towards the
men he’d brought.
Dylan thought the other two guys looked like they could
be twins, blond, beefy and middle-aged, each with a large nose that screamed
family trait. The last, but definitely not the least, was Mr. Hunk. Dylan’s
cock pulsed, and he shifted his stance, hoping that was all that happened.
“That’ll be fine.”
“We’ll get right to work, Mr. Wyatt. Shouldn’t take us
more than a couple of hours, three at the outside. I’ll shout when we’re loaded
so you can give a quick look-see, if you want.” Joe raised his arm and motioned
the men to head onto the lawn.
“Sounds good. The inn is pretty empty right now, so you
shouldn’t be disturbed. Most of the wedding guests have checked out. The next
batch of tourists is supposed to arrive tonight or tomorrow.”
Joe nodded and followed his men to where the marquee
covered a good portion of the backyard.
Dylan stood watching as they entered the canvas
enclosure. Less than a minute later, he heard the rattle of chairs being
stacked and tables being broken down.
Voices came from the direction of the lobby, and Dylan
headed inside. More guests were ready to sign out, and he hurried to the desk.

A
bear of a lawyer in mourning, a handsome young chef who falls head over heels,
and a mystery that threatens their happiness are just the beginning of the
events at Whisker’s Seaside Inn.
Lawyer
Alex Brookfield arrives at Whiskers’ Seaside Inn with a big decision weighing
heavily on him. He’s been offered a judgeship, and while it’s an incredible
promotion, it would mean leaving the house he shared with his late, long-time
partner. Russ died of cancer eight months ago, and although Alex is ready to
move on, he isn’t sure about such a big, permanent step.
Logan
Emerson is the inn’s chef, and wouldn’t mind cooking up something special with
the handsome attorney. He’s not concerned about their fourteen year age
difference. He just knows what he likes and isn’t afraid to go after the hunky
bear of a man.
Alex
heard stories about the inn’s ghosts from its owner, his friend and former
lover Ethan Roberts. But he’s totally unprepared for the spirit who shows up
his first night there.
Between
futile attempts to fend off the frisky young cook, and his offer to help inn
co-owner Cade Wyatt come up with a romantic marriage proposal for Ethan, Alex
finds his hands, and his bed, quite full.
Excerpt:
Chapter
One
“What kind of a crap outfit
leaves a customer standing at the door with enough luggage to choke a small
army? Lazy bunch of no good…”Alex Brookfield let the rest of the sentence fade
into nothingness while he bit the inside of his cheek to keep from laughing out
loud.
Across the beautifully
appointed lobby, he saw the owner and his good friend, Ethan Roberts, tense.
The man spun away from the picture window and faced him, a scowl distorting his
normally handsome face. An instant later, the frown faded, replaced by a
gaping-mouth look of confusion.
Alex couldn’t stop the
laughter from erupting. The look on Ethan’s face was hilarious. The wide-eyed
stare, priceless.
“Well, fuck!” Ethan managed
to get out after only a few more seconds of obvious confusion. “Alex, I should
have known it was you.”
Alex, dressed in his usual
suit and tie, strode across the floor, leaving his large suitcase where it was,
blocking the doorway. “Possibly, but I’m glad you didn’t. I haven’t had a good
belly laugh like that in months.”
With his hand extended,
Ethan took a couple of steps forward and grasped Alex’s hand, giving it an
enthusiastic shake. “Welcome to Whiskers’, Alex. It’s been too long, my
friend.” The owner of the inn patted Alex on the shoulder then pulled him
closer for a warm hug. “How are you?”
“I’m good. Thanks, Ethan.” Alex
accepted the hug. For an instant, it brought back memories of college days when
he and Ethan had been more than friends. But that was a long time ago, and
they’d parted on the best of terms. “Really, to leave a man’s luggage sitting
by the door. Anyone could walk in and swipe it, you know. And me being a lawyer
and all, I’d have to sue.” The last words came out with laughter that came
bubbling up again.
“Bloody hell, man.” Ethan
grinned and pulled him towards the front desk. “My luck, you’d do it and claim
you’ve got all the family treasures, the deeds to any property you own and the
winning lottery ticket you purchased not ten minutes ago.”

David Sanderson arrives at Whiskers'
Seaside Inn, excited by the prospect of investigating the local ghosts. He's a
freelance writer with a keen sense of the supernatural and enthusiasm to spare.
When the ghosts fail to make an appearance, David is directed to the Harbour
Point Light, where an active spirit is known to exist. And one handsome
lighthouse keeper.
Hunter Pierce isn't sure he wants someone writing an article about his lighthouse and the ghost who inhabits it. He lives a quiet, solitary life in his little house by the tower and doesn't relish the idea of tourists taking over the place.
Their priorities might clash, but David and Hunter mesh in all the ways that count. Can an intense physical relationship be enough? And are there more ghosts at the lighthouse than the captain? Someone doesn't like David hanging around. David vows to figure out why, and hopefully, in the process, figure out what to do with the new love he's found.

Someone doesn't like David hanging around. David vows to figure out why, and hopefully, in the process, figure out what to do with the new love he's found.
Excerpt:
David slipped through the
gate and advanced towards the tower. It looked taller and more impressive up
close. The white paint looked fresh, and he figured the keeper maintained it.
One of the many chores the guy found to stay busy. David couldn’t imagine it
was a very taxing job.
At the bottom of the
lighthouse, he stared up almost into the sun. The tower was absolutely amazing.
He had to see more.
He glanced towards the
small house a dozen metres away. So neat and tidy, it was hard to tell if
anyone lived there. A sandy pair of sneakers by the door was the only tell-tale
sign of inhabitance.
He should knock and speak
to the keeper. The sensible thing to do. The lure of the lighthouse was
strong, though, and he approached it, instead. He circled the base until he
spotted the door up a few concrete steps.
David climbed the stairs
slowly, almost in awe. The place felt historic. Something more…
An aura surrounded the
tower like a glowing halo.
“What the—” He reached out
and touched the bright red door. Images flashed through his mind—pelting rain,
lightning, a ship’s captain struggling against a horrible storm. Scenes so
vivid, David thought he was there. He pulled his hand away, and the visions
stopped, but his heart continued to race. “Son of a bitch!”
Eager for more, he grasped
the knob and turned. Locked. He pressed against the cool, metal door,
but no further images came to him.
“Aw, come on!” He rattled the
knob and pounded on the door a few times. Desperate to get inside, he jogged
down the stairs and rounded the tower, looking for another way in. He found a
small window and pressed his face against the cloudy glass.
“Who the devil are you, and
what are you doing?” a voice called from behind him.
David spun around, shocked.
A man was approaching from the water’s edge. He’d apparently been swimming,
judging by the drops glistening on his bare, lightly furred chest. His only
clothing was a pair of black trunks which clung tightly to his skin. David
quickly took in the sight but didn’t dare focus on the tempting, black fabric
or the long, muscular legs beneath. He glanced at the man’s face and inhaled at
the equally gorgeous view.
It’s him! The guy from the inn that
first morning.
The neatly trimmed beard
and wavy hair were blond, although it was hard to tell with the thick, wet mass
slicked away from his face. Handsome, tan, with sculpted cheekbones and blue
eyes the colour of sapphires, the man was a sight to behold.
David blinked and realised
the blue eyes were shooting sparks at him as the man drew closer.
“Get away from there!” the
hunk yelled, voice gruff with irritation.
“Wait.” David realised how
he must have looked. Overzealous as usual, he’d gotten carried away again. “I’m
David Sanderson. I’m staying at the Whiskers’ Inn. You must be Hunter. I saw
you when I first got there.”
With a few, long strides,
the man was upon him. He grabbed David by the scruff of the neck with one hand
and muttered, “I don’t give a damn if you’re the fucking lottery commissioner
here to award my prize. Nobody treats my property that way.” With a firm grasp,
he shoved David towards the gate leading to the road.
“Your property?” David
stammered while being swept along. “I thought the Coast Guard—”
They reached the gate, and
the man shoved David towards the metal frame. “Get out.”
“Listen,” David frantically
tried to explain. “Cade sent me. He said—”
“Cade would never send
someone to beat down the door of my lighthouse.”
“I wasn’t trying to,
really. It’s just…I felt something—an aura, almost like a supernatural glow
around the place.”
The man froze.
David looked at him. “You are
Hunter, right?”
The man scowled. “You need
to leave. Now.”
David’s enthusiasm couldn’t
be quelled, but he knew there was a time and a place to do things right. Again,
he’d jumped in like a panting bulldog pup. “Maybe I could have Cade call you,”
he suggested.
“Yeah, you do that.” Hunter
stood back from the fence and folded his arms across his broad chest.
David climbed through the
gate and glanced back with a hopeful smile. He’d finally uncovered some
paranormal activity—and found his sexy stud along with it.
Perhaps his trip had taken
a turn for the better.
