5 Blue Ribbons for 413 Remembrance Lane!

413 Remembrance Lane: Diary of a House

BY: Jamie Hill, Derek Musgrave, Emma Wildes, Michelle Houston, Cheri Valmont, Skyler Grey and Jude Mason

Amanda of Romance Junkies reviews gave us 5 Blue Ribbons

SNIPPET: 413 REMEMBRANCE LANE: DIARY OF A HOUSE is sinfully delicious! From pirates and vampires to same sex loving, there is something that will appeal to everyone in this book from today's hottest authors.

Midnight Confession-1750 by Cheri Valmont

Catherine Ashbury is in disguise as a pirate. She is in New Orleans trying to find her beloved Drew when she and her companions are kidnapped by a group of men. They are taken to a huge house where she is tossed into a room to await her fate. She wants to know why Drew broke their engagement and where he's disappeared to. Apparently, the captain that resides in this strange house has the answers. When Catherine discovers her nanny has bespelled the diary she gave her, Catherine soon realizes she's tied to 413 Remembrance Lane for better or worse. How in the world does Drew tie into this strange place and will she ever actually get the answers she seeks?

This was a very sensual and heart-breaking story. Drew basically fakes his own death to protect Catherine from ever finding out the truth about him. Catherine has waited for so long to be with the man she loves, she's not going to let anything stand in her way, especially him. The passion that finally erupts between them is spellbinding. MIDNIGHT CONFESSION is definitely the story to start this collection with. It's grabbed hold of me and I can't wait to see what the other authors have to bring to the table!

An Extraordinary Request-1815 by Emma Wildes

When Arthur arrives at 413 Remembrance Lane, he thinks it's just to spend a month with his closest friend and his new wife. However, when Henri and Serena beg him to help Serena father a child, Arthur is dumbstruck. Henri is impotent now due to a spider bite, but he and Serena always wanted children. How can Arthur possibly refuse this desperate couple? Serena and Arthur never expect to find themselves actually attracted to one another

Baby making isn't the only thing going on in Serena's life, however. She has discovered the diary left in the house. By writing in this diary, Serena will magically be able to receive her hearts desire. However, what is Serena's heart's desire…Henri, her husband, or Arthur, the man that brought passion back into her life?

AN EXTRAORDINARY REQUEST is quite addictive. I really love the tie-in of the diary through each of these stories so far. I felt so bad for Serena, all she wants is her husband but he doesn't think he's a man anymore. Henri is such a self-conscious fellow. If only he'd believe his wife's words instead of thinking since he can't offer her sex, she won't want him. Henri brings in his best friend, Arthur to have sex with his wife which was totally hot! I really enjoyed this story a lot and will be looking for more of Emma Wildes stories soon!

Of Death and Desire-1898 by Jude Mason

Jonathan and his lover, Philip, are descending to 413 Remembrance Lane on a vacation of sorts for Philip to try to rest. Philip has consumption and no treatments have been able to help him. When Philip dies, Jonathan is inconsolable. He's in a non-stop drunken rage, up to his neck in his own vomit and ready and willing to end his own life. Something strange is happening here at Jonathan's new home. He is actually feeling Philip touch him, caress him and is sure it's Philip bringing him to orgasmic delight. But how can that be? Philip died! Jonathan has cut back on drinking and is taking better care of himself so are these hallucinations or Philip's last wish in the diary finally taking hold?

OF DEATH AND DESIRE had me bawling my eyes out. It was such a heartbreaking story. These two men basically had to hide what they were from the world. During the time period, gay men didn't exist. With Philip's illness, my heart tore for Jonathan. I couldn't believe how much I fell for these characters. The romance between these two men is exquisite. It's very heart-felt and truly an inspiration. The diary is a huge event in this story and by the end, I was still crying, only this time in gratification. Philip and Jonathan definitely earned a place in my heart.

The War Within-1945 by D. Musgrave

William is just returning home from the war. He and his love, Sheila had bought 413 Remembrance Lane before he was whisked away, and now he's returned home to surprise her. He's always loved the old plantation house and he and Sheila hoped to have a happy life here. Unfortunately, William isn't as carefree about his time in the war as he lets on to Sheila. He is having flashbacks of his time fighting the guerillas and he's sure he's hearing them scream. Things are getting stranger and stranger however, when William's flashbacks get so extreme, it's like he's having out of body experiences. When he strikes his wife, he knows he's in serious trouble.

William decides it's time to talk to the voodoo witch. When he finds and talks to both her and the spirit of pirate Drew (MIDNIGHT CONFESSION), he is instructed to find the diary hidden in the house. Only with this diary can William and Sheila truly be set free from the spirits trying to claim their souls. Will William head their advice and locate the diary in time?

THE WAR WITHIN both spooked me and left me dying to know how it was going to end. I can't imagine coming home from the war and reliving all of my friend's deaths and being haunted by evil spirits. I sure as hell can't imagine being Sheila and having some strange spirit, who I thought was my husband, bringing me to orgasm. William is a hero to me and the lengths he goes to in order to protect his wife and his home will have you enthralled with this story in no time. D. Musgrave has become one of my favorite authors and THE WAR WITHIN definitely cements him there. This story will have your blood turning cold, your libido shooting up to the moon and leave you wondering just how much this diary in the house is capable of.

Let the Sunshine In-1971 by Jamie Hill

Scott and Terri left California to get away from the crime spree ripping through the area. Moving into 413 Remembrance Lane should be making both of them very happy. However, Terri hasn't been in the mood for making love as of late, which is really surprising to Scott. She's been feeling very jumpy lately and now Scott is having weird dreams. Ever since he and Terri met Rafe in the diner, Scott has found himself having very erotic dreams about the man. However, Scott soon discovers he's not the only one having sinfully delicious dreams of Rafe…so is Terri!

When Rafe comes to dinner with some wine, friendship suddenly turns to a whole lot more. Scott and Terri get an experience with Rafe they never could have imagined. When they discover that Rafe has a whole other side to him, they are unsure whether they should run screaming for the hills or just embrace his furry side. He really is the most amazing thing to happen to them, after all. When Terri remembers the diary she found in the house they realize that they may just be able to wish for Rafe to be all man. Wishing on the diary always comes with a price though. Is this threesome ready to pay it?

LET THE SUN SHINE IN is orgasmically delicious! I couldn’t get enough of the scrumptious sex between Rafe and Scott. Terri wasn't my favorite character in this story for some reason. I just couldn't really relate to her like I could to Rafe and Scott. To me, they stole the story and Terri was just kind of along for the ride. This is not meant to be critical of Jamie Hill at all. I just felt the romance and passion more between Scott and Rafe then either or both of them with Terri. This was a spellbinding tale of lust, trust and acceptance. I honestly can't see just two of these characters together. They all really belonged in this threesome they created! I am a huge fan of all of Jamie Hill's work, but I have to say, LET THE SUN SHINE IN is my all time favorite! I love her male on male action and can't wait to see what else she has in store soon.

My Vampire, My Love-1993 by Skyler Grey

Candice has just moved into 413 Remembrance Lane. She's already discovered the diary in one of the rooms and how to open it. Candy has also discovered a new friend on the property…a mangy black and white cat. When a man calls her explaining that he's the nephew of the owner of the home and wishes to speak with her, Candice is nervous to say the least. However, the man's voice sends her insides to quivering and she cannot seem to stay no to him. He introduces himself as Avakis. His touch melts Candice from head to toe and she can't seem to get enough of him. He should not be able to touch her this way! Why can't she seem to stop him?

Avakis is a vampire, cursed to take pleasure from women until he finds a virgin, whom he must turn over to his master to be tortured. He discovers that he can't give his master Candice. He is hopelessly in love with her. There is no way he can remain with her without his master finding out. Is there? When Candice explains the diary, both discover that they may be able to be together after all.

MY VAMPIRE, MY LOVE is a titillating good time to be had by all. Avakis is so protective of the only woman he's ever loved. Explaining to her that he is a vampire would shock and scare the hell out of most people, but Candice takes it in stride because she loves him. She's willing to fight his master along side him to remain with Avakis forever. Once again, the diary plays a pivotal role in their lives which I absolutely love! I definitely want a diary like this to make my wishes come true. Avakis and Candice were wonderful together. The passion that explodes between these two will leave you breathless!

The Life Not Lived-2000 by Michelle Houston

When Natasha's divorce goes through, she gets to keep her house at 413 Remembrance Lane. She also receives a strange package in the mail. Figuring it's from her sister, she dons the beautiful necklace inside. Natasha has been hiding a side of herself for a very long time. Being a closet lesbian has always stood in the way of her and her husband's relationship, but Natasha can't fight it anymore. She needs a woman in her life that will give her everything her heart and body craves.

When Natasha's erotic imaginings become a reality and she finds a strange woman with her in the bed, she freaks! The woman tells her she is called a succubus. She is sure she is just dreaming the woman bringing her untold pleasure, but decides what the hell, my as well ride it out. The succubus is here to help Natasha change her fate. Once upon a time, Natasha left behind the woman she loved more than anything to pretend to be normal. Maybe, with the help of the diary Natasha has found in the house, she can go back and change her mistakes. No fake marriage, no pretending to me straight when she's not and most of all, a chance to be completely and utterly happy again.

THE LIFE NOT LIVED was phenomenal! I truly fell in love with Natasha. I understood her hesitation at ever telling anyone that she was a lesbian. Growing up in the times that she did, she would never have been accepted. However, like she discovered too late, marrying a man to hide your true self will never work. I wanted Natasha to find the diary, to make her wish and to find her lost love. I was really rooting for her throughout. She brought tears to my eyes on more than one occasion, and the provocative pleasure she discovers will make your teeth melt. Michelle Houston is a favorite author of mine and I am so happy to have been able to delve into another one of her masterpieces yet again!

413 REMEMBRANCE LANE: DIARY OF A HOUSE is sinfully delicious. Be prepared to disappear into a multitude of time periods for a few hours. Each author brings their own special ingredients to this heart-stopping collection. There is no way I can pick my favorite story, as each one I seemed to love more than the last. From pirates and vampires to same sex loving, there is something that will appeal to everyone in this book from today's hottest authors. The diary itself really kept my attention. I would love to be able to find one in my home and share all the other inhabitants' adventures! This was such a unique storyline that kept my attention riveted to each individual story. I will be talking about this collection to everyone I know for a very long time to come.

Blurb:

Visit the world of fetish and perversion, in Who Races – Who Wins, where men take on the roll of ponies and women rule as their Mistress trainers. Add a woman of the old world rich, who believes breeding is everything, and who just happens to own her own stable of fine young studs. When she turns to kidnapping and torture, can the lovely young Christine and her adoring steed/husband Slither escape or will evil truly prevail? Who will win that final race, and who will be enslaved?

Excerpt:

“Good morning, my sweet,” she purred, just loud enough for him to hear above the pounding of his blood. “I’m so glad it’s Sunday. It’s been a crazy week and I’ve been looking forward to your training session.” She unsnapped his ankle restraints and waited while he levered his long legs together enough to place his feet in front of his bottom. He blinked against the glare, eyes watering as they adjusted.

The fan motor whirred above him, washing the heat of his cocoon past him and into the small, marble-tiled room. Christine gripped the handle at the foot of his chamber and pulled. On silent rollers, he emerged, flat on his back, at her waist height. The soft, brown leather encasing his limbs from fingertips to shoulder and toe to upper thigh contrasted sharply with his flesh. His sheathed arms were still above him, the ring at the fingertips secured them just inches from the top of his head.

When his vision cleared, he looked up at the long, dark hair framing the fragile features he’d loved since they’d met in college. Inseparable since their first date, his tall, muscular, good looks and her petite, yet voluptuous, loveliness often left people staring as they went about their lives.
She’d complained her hair was too curly to be long, but he loved it and often begged for permission to brush it. The fringe around her face set off her brown, almond-shaped eyes and long, wispy lashes. A nose, she thought too wide, but he loved to nudge with his own. Her full, rose tinted lips always seemed to pout, no matter if she was administering discipline, or was happy with him. He loved her small round breasts, and the gentle curve of her belly -- unfashionable, perhaps, but soft to lay his head on when she allowed. Her lovely round bottom was her best asset, in his opinion, and one he paid homage to at every opportunity.

Her hands roamed over his body, inspecting for rashes or sores where flesh met leather, rubbing at shoulder and upper thigh. He lay as still as he could while the examination continued, but when her fingers probed and stroked his privates, he trembled.

5 Blue Ribbons for Cat's Claw

Cat's Claw

Rating: 5 Blue Ribbons!

Morgan Field is an accountant. However, today she is acting as an executor, delivering a will and final assets to a beneficiary she never knew existed. Finding out the man has no phone and she must hike into the woods to his home does not make her happy.

Joshua Lansing is the beneficiary of Morgan’s friend Frank's will. He has a house in the woods, no phone and no electricity according to the cashier clerk. He is Frank's son and he is shocked to find out his father is dead.

Morgan is quite attracted to Joshua; she thinks he’s a beautiful man. Though, because of the situation, she will not take advantage of him. Later that day, after convincing Morgan to stay the night with him, Joshua looks at her with longing in his eyes, yet doesn’t follow through by advancing to her. Each has their secrets, but will desire overcome his reluctance to make a move on her?

Ms. Mason did very well with CAT'S CLAWS. It was very rich with emotions only a death of a loved one can bring. There is a quality to this story that I can't put my fingers on the right word for, other than to say it touches my very soul. I really enjoyed this story. It was well written, fluidly paced, and had that rare magic that I love to find. It drew me into the story and pulled long forgotten memories.

L Is for Leather

L Is for Leather
multi authors
ISBN: 978-1-57344-308-1
Release date: Feb.2008

I'm extremely pleased to announce that my story, Those Boots has been accepted by Alison Tyler for the upcoming anthology, L Is for Leather which is slated for a February 2008 release from Cleis Press.

Alison Tyler continues the best-selling erotic alphabet series with this collection of stories about all things leather. Lisette Ashton exults in the sultry, distinctive aroma of leather with a perfect description of the erotic aspect of sliding into a new leather jacket in "Truman Capote Was Wrong." In "Sunday Service," author Kate Pearce takes a love of leather even further in this homage to a black belt. These stories will fill your senses with all there is to enjoy in leather.

Awesome review for Amber's Toy

Now, it’s when I get a treat like “Amber’s Toy” that I relish being a reviewer. This is a HOT read that has an unusual story line, too. Amber is taking her revenge on the shallow guy who used her way back when. She makes him need her and I love this female domination, it’s so good to read about a woman taking control for a change. Men’s rear ends are tasty, right? Well Jude certainly thinks so and her delicious descriptions of Tony’s backside are masterfully (mistressfully, really) done. In fact, her writing style as a whole is delightful.A tasty, kinky read with strong FemDom overtones, I can’t recommend this novella enough –it’s a triumph.

413 Remembrance Lane author, D. Musgrave

D Musgrave

1. Tell us a little bit about your characters in "War Within", your story in 413 Remembrance Lane.
The story, War Within, takes place shortly after the end of WWII. The main character, William Beauregard, he just returned from a tour in the South Pacific and he's not alone. Ghosts of the war have followed him back to New Orleans. The hauntings of these ghosts are so vivid, he can no longer distinguish truth from illusion. These hauntings, have him afraid of the voices and images and worries he may lash out at them, hurting his wife, Sheila. To rid himself of the ghosts, he must take a huge risk, one that could lose his wife to him for ever.

2. How did you come up with the idea for your story?
- The idea for the story came about after watching a Travel Channel show about ghost tours of supposed haunted places in New Orleans. I was thinking of a simple paranormal ghost story, but as I began to research ghosts in the bayou, I discovered the link between the ghost stories and Voodoo magic. From there, the story took off and I just held on for the ride.

3. What was your initial reaction to doing a story based around a diary and a house?
- I was on board from the beginning. It's a unique idea and I knew I had to be a part of it. Then I saw the list of other authors involved and it confirmed my decision.

4. What was the most fun part about doing this in-depth of a collaboration?
- Reading all the other stories and seeing how we all worked as a team to link each story together. It was like working a jigsaw puzzle in reverse.

5. Now that the anthology is out and hindsight has had a chance to kick in - is there anything about your story or characters you would change?
Not really. I'm very pleased with how it turned out. I was the last to finish their story for the anthology and I had every opportunity to revise my story.

6. What else do you have coming out soon?
- I've just finished and sent off a short story to Phaze that's going to be in the upcoming Fantasies VI BDSM collection.Continuing EducationBlurbBy day, Stephanie Barrett is a high school English Teacher. By night, she's the Grand Mistress of a dungeon club, without a submissive to call her own. When she spots Nicolas Adamson, back in town from college, she remembers the strong feelings she had for him, but never acted on. A plan forms in her mind, to lure him into her lair. Thus begins the realization of her longest held fantasy--to find a submissive of her own.

7. What are you working on right now?
My current work in progress is for a new line with Love You Divine. The line is called Bedside Manor. Here's the blurb for the series:All the dirty doctor stories behind a single door. Does that gynecologist who works on Tuesdays turn you on? How about the new dentist who said you need $10,000 worth of work and you just signed because you'll see him every other Saturday for a year. Maybe the new neighbors like to play dress-up, and maybe sex slaves are trained in nursing schools. Even alchemists and apothecaries have something to add at Bedside Manor as long as everyone who participates is conscious. My story is about a couple seeking the help of a sex therapist. June and Scott have difficulty sharing their fantasies, so Dr. Marla has them fill out a questionnaire. The Dr. reviews the results, and decides an intervention is the only way to achieve a breakthrough.

413 Remembrance Lane author, Emma Wildes

Emma Wildes

1. Tell us a little bit about your characters in "An Extraordinary Request", your story in 413 Remembrance Lane.

Henri Duclos is a man with a painful secret. His wife, Serena, is the only one who knows his agonizing problem until they share the truth with a visiting friend. The bargain made after the revelation shows Arthur’s depth of friendship, Serena’s love for her husband, and Henri’s willingness to sacrifice almost anything for his pride.

2. How did you come up with the idea for your story?

The challenge of the diary is it exists to help what seems impossible come true. My characters needed that kind of intervention and their personal crisis was beginning to ruin their lives. I asked myself what would make a well-to-do couple like Serena and Henri reach that point.

3. Now that the anthology is out and hindsight has had a chance tokick in - is there anything about your story or characters you wouldchange?

I don’t think so.

4. What else do you have coming out soon?

I believe right now I have thirty-four published/contracted works under three different names. I am grateful and delighted to work with several different publishers and have six more books due out this year and more in 2008. It’s wonderful because I get to do what I want to do and that is write!

5. What are you working on right now?

A story for a Phaze collection, a fable and a sequel novel for Siren Publishing, a short story by request for a special Whiskey Creek Collection to celebrate their anniversary, and another novel for a collection that will have a large print only run and be nationally distributed in major bookstores. I am excited about all of the projects and flattered to be included.

You can always visit Emma’s website at www.emmawildes.com for up-to-date information.

413 Remembrance Lane author, Jamie Hill

Jamie Hill

1. Tell us a little bit about your characters in "Let the Sunshine In", your story in 413 Remembrance Lane.
- Scott and Terri Walker moved to New Orleans from California. His father died and left them the house at 413 Remembrance Lane. They saw it as an opportunity to escape the big city and move east. Terri suffered a miscarriage, and their marriage is shaky. She desperately wants a baby, while Scott just wants his wife back. They meet up with artist Rafe McAllister, and Scott learns he doesn't know exactly what he wants.

2. How did you come up with the idea for your story?
- Not sure about this one! It just came to me. This was my first attempt at writing M/M sex, and after some guidance from more experienced writer friends, I think it worked out quite nicely!

3. What was your initial reaction to doing a story based around a diary and a house?
- I was all for it! The idea was intriguing, and fun to plot out.

4. What was the most fun part about doing this in depth of collaboration?
- I actually enjoyed choosing the year 1971, and researching trivia and facts from that year. I added as much of that as I could, including the beautiful avocado green appliances, and the fact that my characters thought Richard Nixon was a great president, who would go down in history!

5. Now that the anthology is out and hindsight has had a chance to kick in - is there anything about your story or characters you would change?
- I'm very happy with the story, and how it meshes with the anthology.

6. What else do you have coming out soon?
- I currently have a chapter book being released monthly from Freya's Bower. Edge of Sanity, Book 1, came out July 17. The four future books, each about 6K, will be released August through November. In September, I have another M/M/F novella from Phaze called Deep Obsessions. There are a couple more titles in early 2008, also from Phaze, Change of Plans and Head Over Heels.

7. What are you working on right now?
- I finished a Christmas story for Phaze HeatSheets, and am hopeful that will be selected in the September announcement. I'm also writing a novella for the Urban Phaze line, set in Seattle, which will hopefully be released in 2008. I've got a paranormal novella lined up for Freya's Bower, and about a dozen other things floating round in my head!

Thanks, and happy reading!

413 Remembrance Lane author Cheri Valmont

Cheri Valmont

1. Tell us a little bit about your characters in "Midnight Confession", your story in 413 Remembrance Lane.

- Catherine Ashbury is a woman who knows her own heart and mind. She's been in love with the same man as long as she can remember and nothing will stop her from finding out why he's released her from their betrothal, even it means crossing an unknown ocean and going to the barely settled town of 1750s New Orleans. She's accompanied by her Scottish nanny, Tilly, & Drew's manservant from his younger years, Mr. Hillman. These two people help keep Catherine safe and will do whatever they have to do to find out what happened to the love of her life.Miles Chadwick is a pirate captain who will do as he must to send Catherine and her companions on their way. He's a man changed by the horrific experiences that have scarred his body as well as his mind.

2. How did you come up with the idea for your story?

- I've always wanted to do a pirate story. So when the idea for this antho was presented & the location agreed upon, I thought this would be a good place to set a pirate story. Then I did a 'what if' & how can I get an English couple to New Orleans. That's how I came up with the young man going off to seek his fortune, leaving behind a devoted sweetheart. The rest I'll let everyone read for themselves. *g*

3. What was your initial reaction to doing a story based around a diary and a house?

- I thought it was a great idea. I love paranormal stuff and was eager to try my hand at a paranormal story. I love history, so the thought of all that history wrapped up in a diary and a house was very appealing to me.

4. What was the most fun part about doing this in-depth of a collaboration?

- Seeing how many different types of stories that could be written using the same magical diary & house.

5. Now that the anthology is out and hindsight has had a chance to kick in - is there anything about your story or characters you would change?

- Can I say I wished the story were longer? I do write short stories, but I always feel the need to tell more of the personal history of my characters.~6. What else do you have coming out soon?- As of right now, nothing.

7. What are you working on right now?

- I've just finished the fourth story in my Sci/Fi/Fantasy Kazphyrian series & have the idea for number five. Number six in this series is almost complete. Four and five are shorts & six is a full length.I'm also working on a short Regency to be submitted for consideration for another anthology and the fourth story in my Cajun Erotica series. As you can tell I have many irons in the fire and will hopefully have something submitted soon.

And now it's all about me, in the 413 Remembrance Lane anthology

And here's a little about me and the story I have in this amazing anthology. Check it out folks

1. Tell us a little bit about your characters in "Of Death and Desire", your story in 413 Remembrance Lane.

- Philip is the dominate one of the relationship, which might have surprised anyone who knew Jonathan well. Philip dislikes women because of a horrendous upbringing, but is kind to fems as long as he doesn't have to be close to them. When he was well, he was very much in control of his life, and adored Jonathan. Of the two, he was much more level headed.

2. How did you come up with the idea for your story?

- This is a tough one. When we first started talking about doing this antho, we'd decided to begin it in some historical past, and each successive story was to bring it closer to the present day. Two of our authors were very comfortable writing historical, thank heaven; the rest of us seemed to normally write in contemporary. At the time, I was contemplating writing a gay 'something' so I had the genre already in mind. The plot came in a flash. One man dying, the other in such mourning he'd do anything to bring his lover back. And voila, I saw it all. I just had to write it then. Oh, and make sure I didn't mess up with a few details that came from the previous story, and leave enough info for the next. It really was a fun juggling act.

3. What was your initial reaction to doing a story based around a diary and a house?

- I was interested. I loved the idea of doing the diary, a book written by several people through the years. I thought that was a great idea. The house, well that was a little more difficult. We each seemed to have an idea of what the house looked like, and sometimes our pictures didn't quite match up… LOL

4. What was the most fun part about doing this in depth of collaboration?

- For me, I had a huge amount of fun just trying to meld my story in with the others. I've never done anything like this before, and I wanted to make it as perfect as I could. The fun was when it was done and then reading it all, seeing how the stories flowed from one to the next.

5. Now that the anthology is out and hindsight has had a chance to kick in - is there anything about your story or characters you would change?

- Nope, not one thing. I loved Jonathan, he cared so much and even though he might have been the strength of the pair, he was so vulnerable in his loss. Philip was amazing. I wanted to comfort him, even though he hated women.

6. What else do you have coming out soon?

- From Phaze I have several, Aug. 27th, Amber's Toy, a BDSM tale that gives revenge a whole new meaning. October 8th, Cat's Claw, a pair of changelings find each other and learn how to live together, while hunting a poacher. December, I have a short story in Fantasy VI, called Sam, the Man, also a BDSM story, but this time with a twist. The characters are gay and the dominant isn't the big brawny dude.
7. What are you working on right now?

- A story I've tentatively titled 'The New Order'. A sci fi, alternate future, femdom something that's taken hold of me and run like crazy. Think what would happen if pollution causes mankind to become close to infertile? Think about what might happen if women take over and it's up to a man to both win a place 'under' a woman's control and pray he's fertile in order to keep it?

About Michelle Houston - Fellow 413 Remembrance Lane author

As some of you know, I along with a select group of authors came together in an anthology titled 413 Remembrance Lane: Diary of a House.

Well, we decided to do a little interview with each other and tell you something about ourselves as well as the stories we have in the book. Our first interviewee is the multi-talented Michelle Houston. Read on, I'm sure you'll enjoy!

Michelle Houston

1. Tell us a little bit about your characters in "The Life Not Lived", your story in 413 Remembrance Lane.
- Natasha is a very level-headed scientific woman. She has based her life around evidence and what made sense, rather than what she wants. Rather than the life she had planned, she finds herself alone, with a career that doesn’t quite satisfy her the way she thought that it would. After a late night visit from an otherworldly creature, she finds out that there is another world out there – one she never imagined possible. A world of magic, mystery, and second chances.

2. How did you come up with the idea for your story?
- While talking with the other authors, and everyone else was tossing out the paranormal aspect they wanted for their story, I knew I wanted to make sure I didn’t copy it. So I had to come up with something slightly different, and I was rereading a favorite book of mine where the character is plagued by incubi. Since I wanted my character to be a lesbian, to vary the sexualities of the book further, I had to go with a succubus instead.
The story just kind of poured forth after that.

3. What was your initial reaction to doing a story based around a diary and a house?
- Actually, it was kind of my idea. I had just finished reading an anthology where all the characters lived in the same town and all the authors worked together to make their stories mesh with each other. It was something that had always interested me. Most anthologies are on a theme, but the stories don’t have anything to do with one another.
I wanted to do something different. So I approached some writers I know with the idea, together we approached some others, and then we all worked together to work out the details and the kinks.
While frustrating at times, the collaboration turned out far better than I could have ever imagined. I am so thrilled with how 413 Remembrance Lane turned out.

4. What was the most fun part about doing this in-depth of a collaboration?
- Having someone to toss ideas around with, hands down was the best part. Normally writing is a rather lonely task. It’s just you and your characters. Yes, critique partners can help in the early stages, but when it all comes down to it; it’s you, your characters and either a sheet of paper and pen or a computer.
From the beginning, we all worked together and hammered out details. And there were a lot of them. Form the title, to the location, the details of the house itself, the settings of the stories, anticipated length of stories, where we wanted to submit it to when we were done, what sexualities are character were, what paranormal aspects we wanted to utilize, the list goes on and on. Each detail it wasn’t just me trying to figure out – it was all of us.
With each of us having an equal say, and always able to suggest new things, the ides evolved from a simply vague story line of a diary in a house, to the anthology that is 413 Remembrance Lane.

5. Now that the anthology is out and hindsight has had a chance to kick in - is there anything about your story or characters you would change?
- Honestly – no. My story is the shortest of the group, at just over 5,ooo words, but it is still complete. Characters have a life before we meet them on page one, and their lives go past the last page. As writers, we capture moments in their lives, brief glimpses and try to put them to words. I believe that I did just that with The Life Not Lived, and that I did Natasha justice.

6. What else do you have coming out soon?
- In September, I have another Phaze title coming out – Diggin’ Up Bones. It’s a novella, and the longest story I have written to date. It’s also a story very close to my heart.
All Alisa wanted was to be left alone with her writings. But the discovery of Native America bones on her property made that wish impossible.
The last man she wanted to see was back in her life, and with him Zach Bradford brought a whole lot of memories and some questions she really didn't want to answer.
Now besides digging for bones, he's digging into their past as well, searching for answers as to why she broke up with him suddenly, all those years ago. And Alisa has to decide if she is going to keep living in the past, or if she's going to let it go and reach for a possible future with Zach. The future she should have had.
Then in October I have a short story in the Samhain Scorchers anthology from Whiskey Creek Press Torrid. It’s an indirect sequel to my short story in the Summer Solstice Scorchers anthology, also by Whiskey Creek Press Torrid.
When Shaylee escapes from a kidnapping attempt, she manages to get to safety and the shelter of her neighbor's arms. Unfortunately, her body has awakened to Garrett's, demanding she mate with him. But will he be able to handle the fact that she is a were-creature?

7. What are you working on right now?
- I’ve always got about a dozen stories going at once. Many times when I am writing I will have two windows open in word and flip back and forth between them.
Currently, I am working on a werewolf BDSM tale, a set of dragon stories, and a handful of real short erotica pieces.
But that can change from day-to-day. : ) I frequently work on several different stories at once, and try to have al least a half dozen out on various submissions at any given time. You can always check out my website at http://www.eroticpen.net/ for up-to-date information.

Announcing, Phoenix Rising Authors

Introducing the
Phoenix Rising Authors
Why Phoenix Rising?

No man is an island.
We all affect those around us - even indirectly - with everything we do.
For writers, this is especially true.
As writers, we continually strive to learn our craft only to suffer rejections,
enduring our own feelings of defeat, and have persevered.
We have risen from the ashes of our dreams;
much like the symbol we have chosen -
the mythical phoenix, who is reborn from its own ashes.
Given new life with each acceptance, we chose to continue to touch lives in our own unique ways.
Every time we finish a story and send it away, facing the chance of rejection,
we allow our dreams the opportunity to be reborn.

Phoenix Rising Authors are:

Derek Musgrave
Jude Mason

4.5 heart review for Stage Fright

Stage Fright

Publisher: Phaze

Genre: BDSM

Publication date: March 2007

ISBN: 1-59426-915-7

Jarad and Megan have been married for a while and though their love life was satisfying, it needed a boost. Wanting to experiment with something a little kinky but too embarrassed to broach the subject, on a weekend nearly four years ago Jared finally had the nerve to approach Megan with his deepest fantasy; he wanted her to spank him. Indulging in this fantasy these past years has been a turn on beyond anything he could have imagined, but now he is ready to take it to the next level. He craves to be punished in public, but can Megan go that far with their private play? When Megan arranges a “show” in a secluded night club, will Jared be able to go through with his ultimate fantasy?

Readers, break out the fire extinguisher because you are going to need it! STAGE FRIGHT by Jude Mason is a sizzler. But beyond the very hot love scenes is a story of love, trust and acceptance. Jared is a man struggling with his need to be dominated and Megan is sensitive to his needs and feelings. Megan and Jared love and respect one another and that is the central theme in their story. This reviewer has to mention the very sexy and intriguing cover; it captures the essence of the story perfectly. A note of warning, this book contains intense scenes of spanking and exhibitionism.

If you are looking for a book to heat up your summer nights, pick up a copy of STAGE FRIGHT, but be sure to have plenty of ice on hand.

Just passing the time with you

June 07.2007

What a busy couple of weeks. Sammy is all done, or I should say, Sam, the Man, and sent off to Kat at Phaze this afternoon. Phew! I sure hope she likes it/him. It's destined for the Phaze Fantasies VI anthology and already contracted. I had a thought about that too. It was contracted before it was written. What happens if she hates it? I mean the contract is signed and all, so it's a done deal. Maybe? Re-writes? I honestly have no idea. Let's hope I don't have to find out.

I'm off to work on a new one now. A sci-fi, futuristic, femdom, alternate Earth kind of thing. Blink! Yeah I know, different from my usual fare, but I figured what the hell. This may be going to a prospective new publisher. *Crossing fingers* The woman who runs Mojocastle, a relatively new kid on the block, contacted me after Michael Barnette let her know I was interested in them. After the initial panic, I came up with a scenario, tossed it back to her and she's interested. So, I'll do my best.
That's it for now folks. Have an amazing Thursday!

Scorpio Tattoo is #8 in sales!

May 15.2007

As you all know, Phaze is my main publisher, right? Well, Phaze sells through Fictionwise too. I don't get nearly as much per book sold there as I do when it's sold through Phaze, but it's a big old store and they sell a lot of books. I don't usually check very often, but since Scorpio went live I admit I've checked every few days. It started out in number 37 position in the
Phaze store at Fictionwise and I was kind of down. #37 isn't great. I checked a few days later and it had risen to #20 something, and I figured that was going to be it. Well, hot damn, I checked this morning and.... drum roll please... It's moved into #8 position. Whoo Hooo! Yup, I'm thrilled. #8 isn't #1, but it's definitely up there and I'm really happy. I just had to share. I can't stop smiling. *G*

Coming, April 30th, Scorpio Tattoo

Scorpio Tattoo

By Jude Mason

Publisher: Phaze

Available, April 30, 2007

Blurb:

A tattoo is one of the most personal art forms that can adorn the flesh of a human. What happens when women are kidnapped and tattooed? What happens when those women die? And, what happens when the tattooist isn't alive? Jonathan Rorke searches for the answer these questions and others when his psychic talents lead him to the latest victim. Jessica Crane, latest victim, and the only one who's still alive. Why? Together, Jonathan and Jess have to find out who and why she's being tattooed, before her tattoo is finished and she becomes casualty number three.

Excerpt

Jonathan reached out with his senses, trying to feel if there was anything for her to be concerned about. Warmth, quiet, nothing unusual, but he could sense the memory was with her.

"Your room, please," she whispered.

He turned and without a word, took her to his room. A flick of the switch bathed the room in a bright wash of light. "I'll find you something to wear, just a sec," he said and went to his dresser. He rummaged around for a moment, and came up with a white cotton tank he figured would be long enough. Holding it up, he said, "Instant nightgown. What do you think?"

A smile played at the corners of her mouth and she reached out for the makeshift gown. "Bit short, don't you think," she said, holding it up against herself. The hem came to just below her crotch.

"Uh, yeah, but it's all I could come up with on short notice," he countered playfully. "I like it, if that counts."

She managed a soft chuckle. "Yeah, it does."

His smile broadened. "You get into that and I'll light a fire. Sound fair?"

"Yes, please. I've always dreamed of having a fireplace in my bedroom." She turned away and he watched her fumbling at her chest, unfastening buttons no doubt, and he moved to the fireplace.

"You can thank the ancestor who designed this place. Although, back then, these fireplaces were the only heat this place had, no such thing as central heating or furnaces." He kept a supply of wood ready in the woodbin beside the fireplace. He dug around until he found enough kindling to ensure it'd start smoothly, crumpled up a couple of pages of last weeks newspaper and set it in the wood cradle. He laced the cedar kindling across the paper, and then added a few small pieces of well dried maple. All the while, he kept hearing the rustle of her undressing and getting into the tank top he'd found. He was determined not to turn around, not to watch her, but the lust built and he was ready to chew nails by the time he'd put a match to the paper.

"Mm, nice."

Her voice came from right behind him. He let his senses run free and felt her there. He shuddered when he encountered a knot of excitement in her. Deep in her belly, another fire kindled much like the one he'd just set alight. She was aware of it, yet was unable to let it flare up—afraid perhaps that she was moving too fast. He felt her need to slow things down and he was determined to give her the time she needed.

"Why thank you, ma'am," he joked and turned around. His breath caught. She looked incredible. He opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out. Clearing his throat, he tried again, "Y-you're beautiful."

She blushed. The tank top fit her like a second skin; its low-cut U-neck barely covered her nipples. It didn't matter though, because they were clearly visible through the material, as puckered and erect as they had been when they'd made love. The hem of the shirt was just long enough to keep her decent, but he was below her. There was no escaping the sight of those few tendrils of black curls. Nor would he have wished there to be.

A stirring in his jeans, and the sudden moan he hadn't realized was coming, was sure to let her know how he felt.

"Thank you," she said, and crossed her arms under her breasts.

"You cold?" he asked, rising to retrieve his robe.

"No, the fire will get going soon. I'm fine."

"Why don't you climb into bed? I'll crawl in and lay with you."

'Okay," she murmured and turned her back on him.

The rear view was as good as the frontal. Soft, lush curves and long, shapely legs were a major weakness of his, and she had them in abundance. Her shoulders were a little wider than most women's, making her waist appear even slimmer. Her flared hips were perfectly wide and
her ass taut. And, from memory, he knew it was soft and she loved to have it stroked.

He was so lost in thought, that at first he didn't realize she'd climbed onto the bed and was sitting watching him. It wasn't until he sensed her passion rise that he focused on her. He was sure he blushed then.

"Penny for your thoughts," she said, and smiled.

He thought, what the hell, and asked, "You sure you want to know?" Cocking her head to the side, she looked at him as if judging what might happen. "Yeah, I want to know."

~*~Sring Fling~*~ WINNER and more are...

Loveyoudivine's Spring Fling was awesome fun. Tons of people showed up to chat all day, and there were great baskets to be won by some of the most amazing authors. Derek Musgrave and I chose to have a contest for ours and we got a huge number of participants. Our contest ran a week, giving everyone time to search out the answers, and the big winner for that contest is:

cathiecaffey tbranxiety@yahoo.com

Congratulations Cathie, I can't think of anyone I'd rather be sending this out to.

As some of you might know, I've also had two contests of my own going on in my newsie for the last week. One contest was to draw in new members and the other was to say thank you to those who have been around for some time. Some fantastic people have joined, and the only stipulation of the contests were if anyone wanted their names to go into the hat, they had to make at least one post. I didn't care if they told me a long story about their childhood or where they found the family dog, I just wanted them to post once. Well, the turnout was awesome and some of the posts had me in stitches, while others made me want to give the poster a hug. I'd just like to thank everyone for taking part. I hope our budding friendships blossom even further. Okay, down to business, the winner of the newbie contest is:

Julie
escondita_06@yahoo.com

Congratulations Julie, and I hope your birthday was fantastic. Now, the winner of what became known as the old timers contest is someone I've gotten to know a little over the last while. She's a very cool lady and great fun. The winner of the old timers contest is:

Ruthie
Ruthmurray2@aol.com

Congratulations Ruthie! I'm hoping to have more contests over the next while, so keep your eyes open.

Hugs
Jude

Phaze (my publisher) has a contest

Readers: Name a HeatSheet and Win!

Phaze was scintillating in 2005-06 with S, and is feeling fabulous this year with F. If reader response is any indication, we're expected to be even better by '08. This is why we're planning ahead, and why we have declared 2008 to be the Year of the Big O.

Yes, we're talking about that. And, to emphasize our appreciation for the Big O, all 2008 HeatSheets will begin with the letter O. It's going to be a long wait, but we guarantee it will be well worth it to read some of the hottest erotic romance centered around six different themes. If you're patient, and very good (or very bad, in the good way), you'll be treated to tales of gorgeous hunks and delightful heroines, kick-ass adventures and curious paranormal creatures. And, of course, lots of hot sex! January will be here before you know it, so you can plan the next year to collect all of the stories.

The Big O themes for 2008 are:

Overture - The hills (and valleys) are alive with the sound of music. Sensual strings play in harmony with erotic tales of melody and rhyme.
Obey - Submit to the hottest BDSM romance stories available. Do as you're told and enjoy the rope play, handcuffs, and hot wax...or else you'll get spanked!
Obsession - If you're looking for perfume or an 80s one-hit wonder song, keep moving. If you lust for an unattainable love or desire, let us show how to fulfill your dreams.
OZ - Welcome to new worlds where your deepest fantasies come true. Slide down the rainbow, slip through a crack in the time continuum, or simply check the wardrobe for the man, or woman, or both, of your dreams.
Oh! Oh! Oh! - Celebrate the holidays with Phaze. Sit on the right lap, or check the right stocking, and if you've been naughty or nice, who cares? Chase away the winter blues with a hothothot romance.

and last but not least, ???? (this is where you come in)

Okay, so we haven't thought this thing all the way through. We're short an O name, and we really want to get started with promotion. This is why we're letting the readers decide what should be the sixth O HeatSheet.

Now through April 15th, you have the opportunity to tell us what title should brand the next line of Phaze HeatSheet stories. The rules are simple: send an e-mail to:

submissions@phaze.com

with the header O SHEET, tell us your O-Name, and what theme the story should represent. For example: OBAMA - Politics and government stories
(Of course, we don't expect you to use this one, it is an election year after all!)

All names will be judged by Phaze authors, and one winner will be selected. Any duplicate entries by multiple contestants will be placed in a hat and the winner drawn at random. Entrants must be 18 or older. There is no fee to participate, contest is open to all readers in and outside the US.

The reader with the winning HeatSheet name will receive the following prizes/honors:
-A signed Phaze paperback of the reader's choice
-Downloads of all the themed stories bearing the winning O name

An Acquired Taste is live!

An Acquired Taste
by Jude Mason
ISBN 1-59426-945-9
Genre: contemporary, mild femdom

Blurb:

After losing her husband to a drunk driver, Cynthia Lyon thought she’d begun to get a handle on living alone, until she found a leak in her roof. Remembering how a dishonest contractor had swindled them, she creates a contract that would have most men running for the hills.

After a disappointing response from a recommended construction outfit, Cynthia gives Jenkins and Sons a call. Enter, Caleb Jenkins, a young, good looking fellow who seems more than willing to take on her and her contract. A third generation building contractor, he agrees to fix the roof, plus add a room, all according to an agreed upon schedule. There’s just one tiny clause that worries him, if he doesn’t keep to this schedule, he’ll be punished. What begins as a simple construction job, quickly turns into much, much more.

Excerpt:

Was he watching?

She didn’t know for sure, but she hoped so, she performed as if he was. Sliding her fingers under the hem, she touched the soft damp curls hidden just beneath. There were no panties to deter her, and he’d know that now, if he were looking. Without looking towards the door, she rose from the bed and unfastened the button and zipper at the back of her skirt. It was tight, so skimming out of it took some wriggling and pushing, which she accentuated. When it dropped to the floor, she was naked from just below her hip bones. The stiff black leather corset contrasted sharply with the pale flesh of her lower belly and the swell of her hips. She folded the skirt and dropped it on the bed. A smile played at the corners of her mouth and she turned away from the door, not wanting him to see her grin.

Was he watching?

She prayed he was.

She ran her hands over her breasts, lifting them, squeezing the leather cupped mounds. Her head fell back and she ground her hips into the air. She smelled herself, her musk, her excitement, and the leather. Languidly, she trailed her hands down her sides, feeling the ribs beneath the hide. Lower still until her palms met flesh, her hips, and around to the soft swell of her ass. She spread her legs and rolled her hips, enticingly—provocatively.

Reaching up under her arm, she snagged the zipper tab and pulled. The corset sagged and then fell away. She caught it as it dropped towards the floor, and tossed it on the bed with the skirt. Her skin was cold and damp in the sudden freedom. She massaged her breasts, naked and soft, her nipples, taut against her palm. The soft swell filled her palms. Shivering, she spun towards the glass door.

He was there. His mouth hung open. One hand held the shovel; the other was on his crotch. The front of his joggers tented towards her, held by his tight grip. It took him a moment to realize she’d caught him. When he did, he blushed beet-red and turned away. The shovel landed in the dirt. Bending to pick it up, he glanced her way again, as if to see if she’d really been watching him.

She was. Inside she was panting, aching for him, but on the outside, she remained stern-looking and calm. She placed her hands on her hips, and scowled.

He blinked, looked shocked, and quickly lowered his eyes. He scrambled to work, digging furiously. Caught, he appeared to want to get the job done, and get out of there as fast as he could.

Stifling a chuckle, Cynthia sat on the bed and dressed—white cotton panties, blue short-shorts and a yellow t-shirt, all within full view of the harried man. Barefoot, she padded into the living room, and across to the kitchen. A cup from the cupboard, quickly filled with brew, and then she walked out into the sunshine through the dining room’s sliding glass door. Stopping just outside, she watched him shovel. He didn’t even slowed down, just kept on digging as sweat poured off him.

“You’ll have this done in no time at that rate,” she suggested looking at the growing dent in the pile of dirt he was working on.

“Yeah, soon,” he muttered, but continued to dig.

“I’ll see you inside later,” she said and headed back inside. Just before she entered, she turned and asked, “Did you enjoy the show?”

His head shot up and he gaped at her

What happens when a whore hooks up with the wrong john? What happens when he murders her? You'd think she'd die; there'd be an investigation that went nowhere and that'd be the end of it, right? Wrong!

Rose did these things…both of them. The first Rose died and swore vengeance, somehow. When the second Rose died, something horrible, something supernatural happens and Rose comes back. Months pass, while she heals the body, transforming it into and searches for him. When she does, she takes her vengeance, and it's not sweet. Not sweet at all.
